Who We Are

Get to Know Us

13+ years commitment to build a community where children and youth become the young leaders of tomorrow.

Established in 2011, MC-Zambia’s center in Chanyanya is at the heart of a fishing village nestled on a lagoon off the Kafue River, approximately 22 miles from the town of Kafue.

Today MCZ works in 3 fishing communities within Kafue District to attain high levels of education, health, and social and economic status for its target beneficiaries.

Local Change Through Global Exchange®

Our Vision

To see communities achieve greater levels of education, improved health, and increased economic security.

Our Mission

Addressing communities’ pressing needs by empowering current leaders and readying leaders of tomorrow.

The Need

MCZ’s work is designed to suit the needs of the fishing communities which it targets. Each unique project is based on the communities’ priorities. According to Helum 2020, Fishing communities host some of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups of people.

From experiencing the effects of flooding, waterborne disease, and climate change to unsustainable incomes and unpredictable farming patterns. This leads children, women, and youth further into vulnerability and poverty.

MCZ’s work in the fishing community is done with the hope that communities become independent, resilient, and self-sufficient; utilizing technology to find solutions to old problems and realizing the power that they possess to impact future generations.
